The PCP' is founded by
Malcolm
Scerri-Ferrante, a Line-Producer/UPM who has been working in
the film and television industry for the past 20 years. He steadily climbed the ranks from
a runner through to assistant directing and location & production
management. He produced his first TV documentary series at the age of 19
and his first feature experience as a Production Manager was at the age
of 21 on a low-budget UK/Finnish co-production 'Merisairas'. Several years later, in 1998, he was appointed
Production & Marketing Manager of Mediterranean Film Studios
(MFS) during its new management. After one year MFS recorded the
highest number of productions in its 35-year history. In TV he has
produced over 50 hours of screen-time which include award-winning
co-productions with Germany, Austria and Belgium. The Maltese-Canadian
film director Mario
Azzopardi has this to say about Malcolm: "He has been
an integral part in the development of film production in Malta.
His passion, enthusiasm and self-sacrifice has been seminal in
the creation and perpetuation of a small film industry in Malta
that has now been recognized and validated by the Government of
Malta."
