Malcolm Scerri Ferrante found himself "stalking" film sets from the age of 14 and became a trainee at 16 ("Bloody Atlantic") followed by a stint with ABC News working one month on a Peter Jennings news event ("Bush-Gorbachov summit").
By 19, he had produced his first television series ("Close Up"); by 21, he was the production manager of his first international feature film ("Merisairas"); and by 30, he had started line producing ("A Different Loyalty" with Sharon Stone).
His career has since taken him across the globe — working in Malta, Colombia, Morocco, Canada, Jordan, Israel, Hungary, South Africa, and Italy — and collaborating with acclaimed directors such as Guy Ritchie and Oliver Stone.
In 1998, Malcolm joined Catalyst Entertainment in Toronto, overseeing both the marketing and production departments at Mediterranean Film Studios, which went on to achieve its busiest year in 1999 under his leadership.
In the early 2000s, he was appointed to the Maltese Government’s Film Advisory Board, where he played a key role in advocating for and shaping Malta’s first-ever film financial incentives.
As a freelance line producer and production manager, Malcolm has contributed to a diverse range of high-profile productions, including The Count of Monte Cristo, Asterix & Obelix vs. Cleopatra, Papillon, Eragon, and Alexander: The Making of a God.
A member of the Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB), a seasoned MMB tutor and a former participant of Europe's reputable Production Value workshop, Malcolm is widely recognised for his expertise in budgeting, cost control, and maximizing production value.
