The Producer's Creative Partnership (PCP) will be creating the country's first vetted Key Crew List which will consist of all HODs, managers and coordinators who offer professional services to the film servicing industry in Malta. This list will be the first of its kind because all persons listed will have to satisfy certain basic criteria similar to those applied by reputable production guilds and associations in developed countries.
THE FACTS
The PCP shall renew the list once a year. All submissions are free of charge and will continue to be free;
Each listing shall include only the name and surname since this is an endorsement list. If you want your contact details to be publicly available we recommend you get listed on the public web directory of the Malta Film Commission.
To get listed you simply need to complete the form below with:
1) The position in which you are qualified and experienced;
2) A list of THREE international productions you worked on in the last FIVE years. You must have worked on at least TWO weeks of shooting on each production and at least one production should have taken place in Malta;
3) TWO reference names or reference letters from employers or department heads of the productions listed;
If you have a substantial volume of work on international films over the past ten years and yet do not satisfy the exact above criteria, you can still get listed. You will be marked (with an asterisk) as someone who shows potential to work in that respective key position or in a related position.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are other positions not included?
The list is created specifically to help producers and production managers who are researching professional crews which have experience working in Malta. All other positions are typically hired not by the producer or production manager but by the department heads or coordinators listed above. There is no therefore reason for other positions to be on this list. If you work in other positions we recommend you introduce yourself to department heads and coordinators and also get yourself listed on publicly available contact lists such as that of the Malta Film Commission.
I want to work as a Trainee. Can I get listed anywhere?
If you are seriously planning a career in the film servicing industry in Malta AND you are doing it for the passion rather than anything else AND you are willing to work long hours on a minimum wage, then you may qualify as a trainee. Our next mission this year will be to create a Trainee List. You should send an email to admin (@)pcpmalta.com with "TRAINEE LIST" in the subject line and include two reference names of people you have worked or collaborated with in the media industry, even if it was a local commercial or a short film. Once the list is created it shall be updated annually. We recommend that you meanwhile approach production service providers, production managers, producers as well as the Malta Film Commission and ensure they know about your interest. The more you network and show your willingness, there will be a better possibility that someone will give you that golden opportunity.
Who can I send my questions to?
This is a free service and we therefore have very limited resources to process this annual gesture to the industry. Our criteria to get listed are very strict and clearly explained. There is no use in asking us to list you if you do not fit the exact criteria explained above.
I am missing one production that filmed for a little less than two weeks. Can I still be listed?
To preserve the integrity of the list you cannot be listed unless you meet all criteria. However please read the next question.
One of the three productions (which filmed for at least two weeks each) was made over five years ago. However I have other credits within the last five years, in the same key position, with each having filmed for less than two weeks. Can I still get listed?
Yes. We can also list you as a marked with an asterisk as potential or up-and-coming key crew member if you have a substantial volume of work. The PCP shall analyze everyone's application on its own merit and will not hesitate listing anyone "up and coming".
Although I work as a Gaffer, I held that title on only two productions. On the other production I was a Best Boy. Can I not list myself as a Gaffer?
No. To preserve the integrity of the list you cannot be listed as a Gaffer as yet. But you can be listed as a Best Boy since Gaffer work carries more responsibility than a Best Boy and both positions are in the same department.
I do not have three films in the same position. Would it help if I was a member of a local or foreign guild or association or if I get a great recommendation from a high profile filmmaker?
No. To preserve the integrity of the list no exceptions of this kind can be made.
What are the chances of my not getting listed even if I submit everything required in your criteria?
The only obstacle would be if a reference sought from the production results negatively. In such a case you may submit again when you have garnered another production credit with a reference that is favorable.
Who will analyse my application to be listed?
The PCP shall form a 'committee' of persons who, although may compete with each other in the servicing industry, share a common interest to grow the crew base in Malta and ensure professionals are encouraged. Their interest is to ensure that, in the absence of a local production guild, a list with integrity is finally created in Malta. They share the goal to ensure that all those crew members who worked hard over many years in order to perfect their skill and all those others who show great potential for growth in the industry are given every opportunity to survive in this industry and to have sustainable careers. The ultimate goal is to ensure that the current crew base remains solid and that all those up-and-coming are given encouragement, thereby expanding Malta's crew base over time in order to meet the increasing demands of foreign productions.
Where can I find the published list?
Links to the list shall be provided clearly on the PCP website. The list shall also be published on a dedicated website in the near future. A draft of the work-in-progress can be found here here. The list shall also be included in promotional events overseas. It will generally be updated once a year.
